Born in 2009, cellist Jeri Lee has been praised by The Strad for her “spotless” playing, by world-renowned violinist Augustin Dumay for “naturally unfolding a rich imagination without being constrained by technical limitations” and by cellist Jian Wang as possessing “an innate gift for naturally shaping the big picture of music.

In 2025, she won First Prize at the Schoenfeld International String Competition in Harbin, China, becoming the youngest winner in the competition’s history. In the same year, she received Second Prize and the Seong-Yawng Park Special Prize at the Isang Yun International Music Competition, achieving a double honor and becoming the youngest prizewinner in the history of the cello division.


She demonstrated exceptional promise at an early age, winning First Prize as the youngest winner at the Ysaye Junior Competition (Belgium), the David Popper International Cello Competition (Hungary), and the London International Concerto Competition. She also won First Prize overall at the Ise-Shima International String Competition (Japan) and received First Prize together with the Best Interpretation Prize for a Schubert work at the Gustav Mahler International Cello Competition.

In Korea, she has won Grand Prizes and the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award at the Doam Music Competition, Kwon Hyuk-Joo Music Competition, and CBS National Music Competition, and has also claimed First Prizes at the Dong-A Junior, Segye Ilbo, Strad, Yewon, Seongjeong, Eumyeon, Music Journal, KCO, and Jeju International Chamber Music Competitions.

At the age of 15, she appeared as a soloist with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra under Jaap van Zweden at the Han River Concert, presented in collaboration with the Korea Federation of Business Associations. Performing under the baton of Jaap van Zweden, one of the most influential conductors of our time, marked a significant milestone in her orchestral career. She has also performed with the Seoul Virtuosi, Kyiv Virtuosi, Chungcheong Philharmonic, Yewon Chamber Orchestra, Korean Chamber Orchestra, London City Philharmonic, Zagreb Philharmonic, Harbin Symphony Orchestra, Doam Festival Orchestra, and Tongyeong Festival Orchestra, collaborating with conductors including Soo-Youl Choi, Dmitry Yablonsky, David Runtz, Jindong Cai, and Leoš Svárovský.

Since her debut at the Kumho Young Virtuoso Concert in 2021, she has performed at major international venues including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Suntory Hall, Steinway Hall, the Korean Cultural Center in Budapest, Martinu Hall in Prague, the Romanian Athenaeum, and the Harbin Concert Hall.


In 2025, she gave a solo recital at the Shenzhen Concert Hall in China, further expanding her presence on major Asian stages.

She has been invited to international festivals such as the Enescu Festival, Brussels Cello Festival, Chieti Classica Festival, and the Tokyo Asia Pacific Cello Congress. In Korea, she has appeared at the Lotte Concert Hall, Seoul Arts Center, Tongyeong Concert Hall, Elim Art Center, the Changwon and Jeju International Chamber Music Festivals, The House Concert, the Doam New Year Concert, the Seongnam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Samsung Cultural Foundation Sounds S Concert. She has also appeared on KBS, EBS, and CPBC Classical FM radio, as well as on television programs in Korea. In addition, she has participated in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s campaign and in the SM Classics collaboration project with Red Velvet, "Feel My Rhythm", continuing to pursue a broad range of artistic activities rooted in classical music.

She has participated in masterclasses with world-renowned cellists including Arto Noras, Jian Wang, Li-Wei Qin, Eric Kim, Isang Enders, Zlatomir Fung, Ophélie Gaillard, Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Kirill Rodin, Youngchang Cho, Amir Eldan, Santiago Cañón-Valencia, Richard Aaron, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Jens Peter Maintz, and Frans Helmerson.

Jeri Lee entered and graduated first in her class from Yewon School, receiving the Lee Dae-bong Chairman’s Award, and was selected as a Doam Fellowship Scholar.


In 2025, she received the President’s Award from the Korea National Institute for the Gifted in Arts in recognition of her outstanding achievement in the music division.


She entered Seoul Arts High School in 2025 on a full scholarship and studies with Kangho Lee, Jung-Joo Choi, Jung-Ran Lee, and James Kim. She is scheduled to enter the Korea National University of Arts (K-ARTS) in 2026 through early admission for gifted artists, while maintaining an active international performing career.
